King Sejong Station which was established in 1988 by the KARP, consists of 11 facility buildings and 2 laboratories hosting more or less 20 people in winter season and about 80 persons during the summer campaigns.

The station is located in Barton Peninsula, King George Island, making it strategic point for studying the behavior of energy particles from the space into the Earth's magnetic field.

Its relatively mild climate in Antarctica attracts wide range of animals for breeding in summer. This is why many biologists want to visit the island for their researches.
