Molodezhnaya Station opened in February 1962 and was operated by Soviet Union then by became a Russia.

The settlement number is more than 70 buildings, a mess-room, upper-air sounding station, aerological building, power station, radio-center and warehousing. West of the settlement there is a runway for aircraft and in 12 km to the east-south-east of the station a snow-ice airfield was constructed for heavy aircrafts.

The main goals of the weather station was hydrometeorological information support of activities of different scientific teams, sledge-tractor traverses, aircraft flights, navigation of ships and loading-unloading at the stations. The average temperature varies from −19°C in the coldest months (July-August), to around 0°C in January.

At the present time, Molodezhnaya has been decommissioned, despite some sporadic occupations during the summer seasons.
