Damoy Hut was established by the
BAS in November 1975
as a summer air facility and was used annually until November 1993 when
it was last occupied by
BAS
staff.
The hut was used as a transit station in early summer for
BAS staff and stores
to be flown south when the sea ice prevented access by ship to Rothera Research
Station on Adelaide Island. Damoy Hut is now closed. Damoy Hut is now an
unoccupied British station and serves as an emergency refuge only.
